2011 Pan Am Games -Country Qualifiers

2011 PAN AM GAMES
The 2011 Pan Am games are in Mexico. The sailing will be held in Puerto Valarta Beach Oct 23-29, 2011. 10 teams will participate, one of which is from the host country Mexico.
The PASF system requires that the other 9 nations qualify at various events in 2010 selected by the Class and approved by PASF.
PASF has approved the following country qualifiers for the Snipe countries.
WH&O Championship - 4 entries - Buffalo Canoe Club, Aug. 28-Sept 2, Ridgeway, Ontario, Canada.
NA Championship - 2 entries - to be confirmed. Tentative for Puerto Rico, possibly July
SA Championship - 3 entries - need venue information & date
Once a Country has qualified, those Nations then will determine how they will select their Pan Am rep. The SCIRA USA Board will establish the qualifying event by the end of 2009. The National Authority (US Sailing) has certain requirements re this event such as # of races (6?), boat weighing and sail measuring etc. If your Fleet wishes to host the qualifier as a free standing event, or in conjunction with an existing event please let Lee Griffith know.
